Ultracure DPC Injection Cream
Ultracure 3 Litre DPC Injection Cream is a high-quality rising damp treatment developed by Wykamol, one of the UK’s most trusted names in property protection. Supplied in a 3L tub, this cream is designed for use with a professional DPC injection pump rather than a cartridge gun, making it ideal for larger jobs or frequent use.
The BBA-certified formula provides a permanent chemical barrier against rising damp, suitable for use in most wall types including solid brick, cavity construction, and rubble-filled stone. Once injected into the mortar course, the thixotropic cream spreads through the wall and cures to form an effective water-repellent zone.
Ideal for:
-
Medium to large areas affected by rising damp
-
Professional use with injection units
-
Use prior to replastering or tanking
Coverage:
-
Up to 30m of single-leaf 230mm (9") wall
-
Actual coverage depends on wall thickness and condition
Advantages of DPC Cream Injection:
Chemical DPC injections have transformed the damp proofing industry as a viable substitute for traditional physical DPC installations over the last five decades, favouring the innovative, quick, and cost-effective DPC creams for safer and more efficient rising damp treatments.
- The cream's unique formula transitions to liquid for superior depth penetration.
- Offers perpetual damp resistance, maintaining efficacy as long as the mortar remains intact.
- Installation is streamlined and tidy, with the cream's consistency and low-pressure delivery minimizing spillage and facilitating precise application.
- Contributes to energy cost savings by addressing rising damp, which reduces heat loss through damp walls.
COVERAGE RATES
Ultracure DPC Injection Cream comes in various sizes and coverage is impacted by the depth of the thickness of the wall, as shown below:
Pack Size | Wall Thickness: 115mm | Pack Size | Wall Thickness: 230mm
3L | 30 Linear Metres (at a depth of 100mm) | 3L | 15 Linear Metres (at a depth of 210mm)
Pack Size | Wall Thickness: 345mm | Pack Size | Wall Thickness: 460mm
3L | 10 Linear Metres (at a depth of 320mm) | 3L | 7.5 Linear Metres (at a depth of 430mm) |
APPLICATION GUIDE
Preparation
- Identify potential areas of excessive water ingress, fixing or adding drains as needed.
- Strip skirting, fittings, and wall finishes to reveal the DPC line, removing plaster contaminated with salts up to 300mm above damp levels.
- Inspect and address any fungal damage in floor timbers, replacing if necessary.
- Clear wall cavities of any obstructions.
Application Instructions
- Preparation:
- Remove all internal finishes such as plaster, wallpaper, skirting boards, and render up to at least 300mm above the highest visible signs of damp.
- Ensure the wall surface is clean, dust-free, and accessible. Rake out any loose mortar and repair deep cracks in joints before drilling.
- Check for any external defects such as high ground levels, blocked air bricks or leaking gutters — these should be addressed before starting.
- Drilling Holes:
- Identify a suitable horizontal mortar joint approximately 150mm above external ground level (or above internal floor level for internal walls).
- Using a 12mm masonry drill bit, drill holes horizontally into the mortar bed at 120mm centres along the chosen DPC line.
- For 230mm (9") solid walls, drill to a depth of 210mm. For thicker walls, drill each leaf separately if accessible or adjust drilling accordingly.
- Tip: Keep the drill bit level and avoid angling upwards — horizontal drilling ensures optimal cream dispersion.
- Injecting the Cream:
- Pour Ultracure DPC cream into a compatible DPC injection pump or sprayer.
- Insert the nozzle to the back of the first hole and slowly inject while withdrawing the lance, ensuring the hole is filled fully and evenly.
- Wipe away any excess cream from the surface to avoid staining. Repeat for all drilled holes.
- Post-application Considerations:
- Do not cover or fill the holes immediately. Allow at least 24 hours for the cream to diffuse fully through the wall structure.
- Full wall drying can take several weeks depending on ventilation, wall thickness, and existing moisture levels.
- Once dry, walls can be re-rendered using a salt-inhibiting plaster or a complete tanking system where necessary. Standard gypsum plaster should not be used directly over treated walls.
