We recently assisted with a large flooring project for a brewery who were expanding in to a new premises for beer production. Our senior technical adviser Mark worked closely with the client to install our High Build epoxy floor coating. We have helped many customers in the brewing & micro brewing industries who choose to install an epoxy floor due to the benefits of this type of coating in these environments. Our technical team are able to carry out a full assessment of the brewery floor, advising suitable products & then assisting throughout the entire project from application to preparation.
What Was The Brief?
The client; Copper Dragon Brewery manufacture cask ales from their facility in Keighly West Yorkshire. They have recently acquired a new premises for beer production. With that in mind the coating had to be incredibly durable and able to withstand heavy machinery as well as being easy to clean and low maintenance. Good slip resistance was also key, the epoxy coating was needed to seal the floor ensuring any spills can be cleaned up ensuring a clean, safe environment.
Area Size – 400m2
Durability Required – High Durable
Product – Deep Penetrating Epoxy Primer + 2 Part Non Slip Brewery High Build Floor Coating
How Did We Help?
After initially discussing the brief with the client Mark, from our technical team visited the site. The current condition of the floor was carefully inspected to highlight any contamination or areas of damage. Mark recommended a diamond grind preparation, this would help smooth the surface as well as creating a key for the epoxy to adhere to. After that a deep penetrating epoxy primer was recommended; this primer is specially formulated to go into the substrate and bind any weak cementitious material together before adding a top coat. 2 coats of our non slip High Build brewery floor coating was then advised.
How Did We Assist With The Self Install?
The client chose to install the coating themselves with Resincoat supplying the products and then assisting throughout.
After the plan was agreed we provided the client with equipment hire advice and demonstrated the use of the equipment on site, allowing the client to correctly prepare the floor in readiness for the epoxy primer & floor coating.
We continued to provide support throughout the rest of the project offering useful tips on mixing, application best practises & information on pot life and working times ensuring the client applied the product successfully and was able to achieve a high quality finish.
What Was The Finished Result?
The project was completed to a high standard, on time with the client being exceptionally happy with the results.
